The pull request has always been the bottleneck, and now it's slowing down every organization. Agents make it trivial to open a PR. They make it only slightly easier to open one worth reviewing.

In this talk from AI Engineer Paris 2026, Matt Pocock asks why that is and what to do about it. Code is the environment your agent works in, so agent experience (AX) deserves the same rigor that developer experience (DX) got. Fixing the bottleneck means fixing what happens around the PR, not how fast it gets written.
